Fact: there are more than 70,500 single parents on active duty in the U.S. military — about 5 percent of all service members. Nearly half of military single parents are in the Army.
However, I think the U.S. army are hypocrites, heartless and war freaks for discharging a single-mom who evaded her deployment in Iraq. One, she is a single mom for Christ sake and nobody was free to take care of her child for a year. Two, if she was indeed deployed in Iraq and in case she gets killed where will this child go after a year then since the agreement for her care lapses after a year?
What is the American government/Army thinking? They could just ruin people’s lives even the young ones just to get hold of a land they don’t own and are trying to own? A land where a lot of soldiers, brave and loyal soldiers die because of some stupid war?
Spc. Alexis Hutchinson, an Army cook stationed at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, was arrested in November after skipping her unit’s deployment flight. Hutchinson, 21, said she couldn’t leave her son because her mother had backed out of plans to keep the child a few days before the soldier’s scheduled departure.
They could give her another assignment if the government and the army really cares for their people and not just their interest.
