I’ve been asked this question a couple of times: “can blogging sustain my everyday financial needs?” “should I quit my day job and focus on blogging?” “is that how easy it is to make money with blogs?”
For question number 1 the answer is yes. If you maintain a number of blogs and most of them have page rank and good traffic, say more than a 1,000 visitors a day and you write for a number of write reviews or post in your blogs, then you are good to go.
Should you quit your day job to blog, I don’t think its a wise decision unless you have what I mentioned above. Blog traffic algorithms and internet search behaviors and the like is unpredictable. You may hit a million for a certain post at one time but it doesn’t happen all the time so your earning is not that stable as having a day job that has a stable earning.
Its not that easy to make money with blogging. You have to invest time writing decent post if you want your blog to start in a good way in terms of search and content. You have to make sure that have original content meaning not plagiarized articles. You have to stick to a certain niche so you will have a target audience. Money doesn’t come as soon as you put up a blog.
Blogging is my full-time “job” and I’m glad that I’m able to get decent money from what I love doing. If you love to write then blogging can be your full-time work. A single mom can definitely live as a full time blogger or anything she aspire to be as long as she loves what she does and is good at it.
