After my the post I made about the single parents law here the Philippines and the suggestion of a Solo / Single Parents ID I was asked where to get this kind of ID and what are the benefits of owning one.
Any solo parent can obtain a Solo Parent Identification Card or Solo Parent ID from the City/Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office where they reside. Benefits of having the ID are livelihood, self-employment and skills development, employment-related benefits, psychosocial, educational, health and housing services among others.
To apply for a Solo Parent ID one needs to have the following requirements:
A barangay certificate from the barangay office which you are a resident.
Documents /evidence that the applicant is a solo parent (e.g. death certificate of spouse, declaration of nullity of marriage, medical certificate (if incapacitated) or certificate of no marriage of not married and the birth certificate of the child.
ITR or certification for the barangay/municipal treasurer
You may visit your local DSWD offices for more information. Or visit http://www.dswd.gov.ph/
