It was November last year when I joined a fitness challenge and because of that I was able to discover what contributes to my fats around my waist. It was all the carbs I love to eat,especially rice.
After two weeks with minimal rice consumption I lost 2.3 lbs and obviously most of that weight was from my waist. No wonder most western women I know barely have ugly belly fats its because they hardly eat rice.
Since then I try not to eat so much rice, only when I have a craving but not as voracious as I was with it. If you want to reduce belly fat then you should try a less carb diet too. I can attest to the fact that it really works.
