This blogging mommy will be an event snob from now. The prestige of attending events and being invited to one has diminished now because of some bloggers who created blogs so they could be invited at events.
For your information I blogged as a hobby. My blog is a place I can write anything and everything under the sun, my rants and bits of info I learned here and there. I attended events because I wanted additional content for my blog. But still I focus on quality and relevance to my blog theme.
I don’t like the way companies and PR are using bloggers and blogs to make it appear that they are good companies or they have good product even if they are not. I don’t like how they get a bulk of bloggers to attend their events so they can create a buzz even if the blog is a cut and paste blog. I don’t like how some bloggers behave in events and are just after the goodie bag/ token for their attendance and bug the PR when they don’t get any loot.
I didn’t blog to be like that and I don’t want to be seen as that and so from now on I will be choosy with the events I attend and will say no to events that are irrelevant to my blogs topic.
